Carbis Awarded Vessel Internals for BP Clair Ridge Project https://www.carbisfiltration.co.uk/carbis-awarded-vessel-internals-for-bp-clair-ridge-project/ Mon, 14 May 2012 07:26:48 +0000 https://staging.thinklittlebig.in/carbis-filtration/?p=1748

Carbis secures orders for a large number of internals for the BP Clair project. Materials are a combination of Duplex and Super Duplex and our scope includes the provision of assemblies and components for the treatment of produced water and sea water.

This is the second phase of development of the giant Clair field, located to the west of the Shetland Islands. The development will involve the construction and installation of two new, bridge-linked platforms, scheduled to be installed in 2015 with production expected to commence in 2016. The new facilities are being designed for 40 years of production and will require a total capital investment of circa £4.5 billion.

The new development will have the capability to produce an estimated 640 million barrels of oil and will provide a hub for future expansion, subject to further appraisal. Peak production is expected to be up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day.

Carbis invest in a further automatic TIG welding machine https://www.carbisfiltration.co.uk/carbis-invest-in-a-further-automatic-tig-welding-machine/ Mon, 13 Feb 2012 06:25:50 +0000 https://staging.thinklittlebig.in/carbis-filtration/?p=1699

We have recently invested in an additional semi-automatic TIG welding machine, this new and advanced machine gives us greater flexibility and capacity to serve our clients demanding needs.

The new machine allows us to precision weld components up to 50KG in weight and 325 mm in diameter, with material thicknesses of 1 to 20 mm (subject to joint preparation)

We have a good portfolio of weld procedures covering Duplex, Super Duplex, Hastelloy, Stellite and 316, with qualifications to BSEN 287, ASME IX, Norsok M601 and various BP and Total specifications. We are also working towards ISO3834.

We welcome subcontract welding work.

Pump Protection Screens for Nexen Golden Eagle Project https://www.carbisfiltration.co.uk/pump-protection-screens-for-nexen-golden-eagle-project/ Fri, 20 Jan 2012 06:23:49 +0000 https://staging.thinklittlebig.in/carbis-filtration/?p=1693

Carbis manufacture several pump protection screens on time to meet clients demanding schedule. The large diameter (1200 mm) heavy duty screens manufactured in Super Duplex are used to protect seawater lift pumps to be installed in the North sea.

Nexen Petroleum’s Golden Eagle Area Development (GEAD) project includes development of the Golden Eagle and Peregrine (formerly Pink) fields. The fields are located in blocks 20/1, 20/1N and 14/26a of the North Sea, about 110km northeast of Aberdeen. Water depth in the region is 89-139m. The GEAD project was approved by the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change in October 2011.

First production from the project is expected in 2014 at the rate of 60,000 to 65,000 barrels of oil a day (bopd). An investment of $3.3bn is being made in the project.
