Liquid and Gas Filter Cartridges and Cartridge Filter Housing

Carbis Filtration supply a range of filter cartridges and filter housings for the filtration of liquids and gases.

Pleated Cartridges
Carbis polypropylene, polyester and glass fibre pleated filter cartridges are suitable for the micro filtration of gases and liquids. They provide high dirt holding capacity and the capability to remove a wide range of particle sizes up to the particle retention rating. Carbis pleated filter cartridges are ideal for use as final filters in process applications and as pre-filters in sub-micron membrane filtration systems.

Carbis pleated filter cartridges are manufactured by fusion bonding high quality hardware components and the filter media. This method of fusion bonding helps to guarantee cartridge integrity, eliminating any extractables derived from bonding agents and minimising the risk of bypassing. Carbis pleated filter cartridges have excellent chemical compatibility characteristics and are chemically and biologically stable. To allow them to be steam sterilised or reverse flowed, Carbis filter cartridges can be supplied with robust inner and outer supports. Carbis pleated filter cartridges are designed to give a high dirt holding capacity, while maintaining low differential pressures and high flow rates.

Lenticular Cartridges
Carbis Lenticular filter cartridges provide filtration levels for removal of coarse matter right through to sterilising filtration, we have a product ideally suited for all applications. Carbis lenticular filter cartridges offer high flow, high surface area cartridges with high wet strength due to specially formulated resin binders and great physical strength due to high grade polypropylene skeleton and polyester cover. Carbis Lenticular filter cartridges are available in standard 12" (300 mm) and 16" (400 mm) diameter 9 cell and 16 cell versions, as well as in alternative formats which are available to order.

Hydrocarbon removal cartridges
Clerify™ Oil Adsorption Media was developed specifically for the oil and gas industry to simply and economically remove oil contamination from water, thereby enabling water to be discharged within current and anticipated statutory or best practice levels. Clerify™ removes dissolved and dispersed oils. Clerify™ provides simple and convenient solutions to oil removal problems. Standard size filter cartridges, incorporating Clerify™ can be installed in filter vessels that are already in use or are readily available. Clerify™ is available in alternative formats for process applications.

Carbon Cartridges
Activated carbon filter cartridges are used for the removal of chlorine, VOCs (volatile organic compounds) chlorinated hydrocarbons and organic impurities. Activated carbon is the generic term used to describe a family of carbonaceous adsorbents with a highly crystalline form and extensively developed internal pore structure. Typical applications include: Potable water, Soft Drinks, Brewing, Semiconductors, Gold Recovery, Petrochemical, Ground Water, and Process effluent.

Spun Bond Cartridges
Absolute and nominally rated Polypropylene and Nylon 66 spun bond filter cartridges. True graded density media captures particles throughout the entire cartridge and ensures a consistent high particulate retention, with high flow rates and low pressure drop.

Applications
Include:

  • Fine Chemicals - The batch filtration of chemicals and reagents, including chemical effluents prior to disposal.
  • Coatings and Inks - The pre-filtration of paints prior to recovery by RO on Electro-Deposit paint lines and the filtration of water based inks for high speed ink-jet and spray printers.
  • Manufacture and Semiconductors - The preparation of process waters and chemicals used in the manufacture of semiconductors and other electronic components.
  • Electroplating Solutions - The filtration of electroplating bath solutions to improve plating quality, and the restoration of plating solutions including the recovery of precious metals.
  • Foods and Beverages - The clarification of foods and beverages including syrups, beers, wines and spirits.
  • Process Water Systems - The filtration of process water in pure water supply systems.
  • Enhanced Oil Recovery Techniques - The filtration of water based fluids such as oil field brines, for use as completion of work over fluids by the oil and gas industry.
  • Hydrocarbon removal - reducing dispersed and dissolved hydrocarbon from produced water, with in oil and gas completion wells.

With the exception of our Lenticular filter cartridges, all filter cartridges supplied by Carbis are available in single or multiple units of 5", 10", 20", 30" and 40". Designed to fit Carbis single and multi-cartridge filter housings and as direct replacements for existing cartridges, all Carbis filter cartridges are available with end fittings to suit all industry standard installations without modification.

We offer a wide range of industrial filter cartridge and bag filter housings manufactured as standard in 316 stainless steel and as specials in other materials such as Hastelloy and Super Duplex. We also offer our filter cartridge and bag filter housings for hire follow this link for further information.

  • Single Filter Cartridge Housings to suit liquids and gases with various pressure ratings, available with Vee clamp or screwed closures.
  • Multiple Filter Cartridge Housings in an array of design styles suitable for the most basic water filtration right up to the more demanding filtration requirements associated with pharmaceutical, beverage and coating applications. Standard designs offer up to 24 x 40" stacks and flow capacities in excess of 150m³/Hr (much larger housings are available in our special range)
  • Sanitary Filter Cartridge Housings our 'T' type housings are used in the pharmaceutical, micro electronics and fine chemical industries, most models have the classical domed cover for easy access to the plug-in style of filter cartridge. Polished stainless steel with a crevice free finish comes as standard and can be further enhanced with electro polishing both inside and outside. Vent filters are also offered as part of this range. Standard designs offer up to 12 x 40" stacks and flow capacities in excess of 100m³/Hr.
  • Bag Filter Housings used in general chemical and processing duties, a versatile range of housings starting with the small 'mini' series using 4¼" ring filter bags right through to the industry standard 7" ring filter bags in multi pot filter housings. We offer simple free standing side entry models with Vee clamp closures for economy through to top entry bolted cover designs for maximum security and robustness, the various different designs available will allow you to select exactly the right model for your application, all with electro polished finish as standard
